The National and International Conference of Psycho-Oncology 2025 will take place in Bucharest between October 30 and November 1, 2025, with Prof. Dr. Dan Gabriel Duda as the guest of honor.
Between October 30 and November 1, 2025, Bucharest will host the 5th edition of the National Conference of Psycho-Oncology and the 1st International Edition, under the theme “Psycho-Oncology in the Era of Change: Innovation, Support, and Adaptation for Cancer Patients.” The event, to be held at Hilton Garden Inn, will bring together professionals in psychology, oncology, and social and medical care for an interdisciplinary dialogue dedicated to mental health in oncology.
This year’s conference marks a milestone for the psycho-oncology community in Romania, expanding to an international level and addressing an essential theme in contemporary medical practice: innovation and adaptation in supporting cancer patients.
The guest of honor for this edition is Prof. Dr. Dan Gabriel Duda, Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Translational Research Program in Radiation Therapy for Gastrointestinal Tumors at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston, USA. His presence brings a global perspective on the connection between fundamental research, personalized treatments, and the psychological support offered to cancer patients.
The event is under accreditation with major professional bodies: the Romanian College of Psychologists, the Romanian College of Physicians, the Romanian College of Social Workers, and the Order of General Nurses, Midwives, and Medical Assistants of Romania.
Organizers emphasize that, amid the profound transformations within the healthcare system, psycho-oncology is becoming an essential pillar of modern care, helping to reduce anxiety, improve treatment adherence, and enhance the quality of life for cancer patients.
