The Ministry of Health is expanding the Priority Actions – Stroke program and, starting in August, is adding four new hospitals to the network of facilities funded for rapid intervention in cases of stroke.

The Ministry announced on Tuesday that it has approved the inclusion of four additional hospitals in the direct funding program dedicated to the treatment of acute ischemic stroke.

Among them is the Cluj-Napoca County Emergency Clinical Hospital, which will receive direct funding to carry out essential procedures such as:

  • intra-arterial fibrinolysis,
  • percutaneous angioplasty with stent placement,
  • embolization for ruptured aneurysms,
  • thrombectomy,
  • thromboplasty.

Alongside Cluj-Napoca, the following hospitals have also been included in the program:

  • Moinești Municipal Emergency Hospital,
  • Odorheiu Secuiesc Municipal Hospital,
  • Slobozia County Emergency Hospital.

„Timely access to specialized treatment is essential for the survival and recovery of stroke patients,” emphasized the Ministry, reaffirming its commitment to supporting hospitals that develop modern and efficient services.

The stroke rapid intervention network is part of the national program „Priority Actions – Stroke,” through which the Romanian state funds critical interventions for stroke patients, addressing one of the leading causes of death and disability in the country.
