CMR calls for amendments to the draft Salary Law, including higher salary coefficients for doctors and maintaining the on-call bonus.

The Romanian College of Physicians is calling for amendments to the draft Salary Law, including higher salary coefficients for all professional grades of doctors and the preservation of the 100% bonus for on-call shifts performed during weekends and legal holidays.

Prof. Dr. Cătălina Poiană, president of the Romanian College of Physicians, said the institution considers it necessary to increase salary coefficients for all professional categories: resident doctors, doctors, specialist doctors and senior specialist doctors.

CMR is also requesting that the 100% bonus for on-call shifts performed during weekends and legal holidays be maintained, as well as that situations in which career promotion could lead to a salary reduction be avoided.

The CMR president issued a call for professional unity and solidarity, emphasizing the “social importance of doctors’ work”.

According to the message, CMR must be an active participant in the negotiations on the draft Salary Law, and the College has requested points of view from its specialty committees.
