Cluj to Host Romania’s First Integrated Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery

Cluj-Napoca will soon become home to Romania’s first integrated center dedicated to advanced minimally invasive surgery.

The project, part of the Integrated Outpatient Unit of the Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases – a healthcare facility under the authority of Cluj County Council – will be financed through the Health Program with a total investment of 78,367,650 lei (VAT included). The financing contract is expected to be signed in the coming days, and the execution timeline is set at three years.

The project includes several key components:

  • Development of the Integrated Center for Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery on the 5th floor of Building B;
  • Modernization and complete refurbishment of the Medical Recovery, Physical Medicine and Balneology Laboratory located in the basement of Building A;
  • Complete renovation of the building’s exterior, located at 19 Moților Street.

The recovery laboratory will be entirely reconfigured, with two therapeutic pools planned—one for children and one for adults—designed to enhance hydrokinetotherapy services. Separate functional circuits will be created for each patient group, including dedicated changing rooms and procedure-specific recovery spaces.

With this major investment, the Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Cluj-Napoca is significantly expanding its capacity for diagnosis and treatment, emphasizing modern technology, patient comfort, and high standards of medical care.
