EduCare 5.0 at UMF Iași: collaboration in digital health

UMF Iași hosts the EduCare 5.0 conference on 7–11 October 2026. The agenda includes digital oncology and healthcare innovation projects.
The “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iași will host the EduCare 5.0 Alliance’s biannual conference from 7 to 11 October 2026. The meeting will focus on collaboration in education, research and healthcare innovation, according to the university’s announcement.
The alliance comprises 10 higher education institutions from nine European countries and is coordinated by Hochschule Bielefeld, Germany.
Digital oncology and translating research into practice
The agenda includes DigiCare Innovation, a project running from 2025 to 2027. UMF Iași is contributing through the development of a digital oncology LivingLab, together with the Iași Regional Institute of Oncology and technology partners, to support the development and testing of digital solutions.
Another project on the agenda is THRIVE, launched in September 2026 with funding of almost €2 million. It aims to turn research into solutions ready for implementation by assessing clinical feasibility, economic aspects and regulatory requirements.
Visits and joint projects
The programme includes visits to the university’s CEMEX research centre and Simulation Centre, meetings with students and discussions on European funding opportunities.
